Skin overview

In Well-Worn the orange paint on this M249 is clearly chipped, with bare metal showing through on the barrel and the corners of the ammo box. The dark receiver hides wear better, so the overall shape of the colour scheme remains. The rough, workshop-worn look suits the drill theme.

Item type: machinegun. Consumer Grade is the lowest tier of the rarity scale: the most common skins, most often used in trade-up contracts.

Solid Color: a single colour without a pattern; wear dulls it evenly and rubs it off along the edges.

Appearance in Well-Worn

The receiver and top cover are painted a dark blue-grey, with small orange details on the bolt area and side fittings. The long barrel, front sight and rear sight are bright orange, and the large box magazine below the receiver is the same orange.

The orange paint is chipped through to metal on the muzzle half of the barrel, the sights and around the corners of the ammo box. The receiver shows scratches along its edges and raised details. In game the ammo box looks noticeably patchy, though the colour scheme is still obvious. The flat sides of the stock and receiver keep most of their paint.

Stickers and crafts

Orange, yellow and dark blue stickers match the existing colour blocks, while black or holo stickers with blue tones fit well on the receiver. Placing stickers on the dark receiver keeps them readable against the bright barrel and box.

What to check before buying

  • Check where the float sits within the wear grade, since the solid orange shows chips clearly on worn copies.
  • Inspect the corners of the ammo box, as they are the most visible part in first-person view and wear early.
  • Look at the muzzle and sight posts, which lose paint before the rest of the barrel.
  • Pattern does not matter for this finish, so compare copies by float and applied stickers.

Who the Well-Worn quality suits

  • Budget buyers who just want a coloured M249 instead of the default.
  • Fans of a used, workshop-style appearance.
  • An inexpensive way to get the scheme with character.
