M249 | Sage Camo is a Consumer Grade machinegun finish with a hydrographic camouflage of sage green, grey and dark olive blotches. In Factory New the blotches keep sharp edges and the muted colours look even from the muzzle to the stock. It suits a buyer who wants the cleanest version of a quiet, military-looking finish.
Item type: machinegun. Consumer Grade is the lowest tier of the rarity scale: the most common skins, most often used in trade-up contracts.
Hydrographic: the pattern is applied as a film over the metal; wear rubs it down to the base, starting with raised parts.
How the skin looks in Factory New
The receiver and the top cover are wrapped in a grey-green camouflage with darker olive patches, while the barrel, muzzle and handguard area stay mostly dark grey metal. The box magazine shows the pattern most clearly, with large olive, grey and pale sage blotches across its flat sides. The stock and pistol grip are a lighter sage green with soft darker patches, which keeps the rear of the gun calm and uniform. On worn copies the film rubs off first on sharp edges, the corners of the box magazine, the rails and the raised parts of the receiver.
The film is intact on every part, with clean edges on the box magazine and receiver. The olive blotches keep crisp borders against the sage and grey base. In game the gun looks evenly coloured and matte. Nothing is scratched, including the rails and corners.

Stickers and crafts
Muted olive, khaki, black or matte grey stickers fit the military palette without breaking it. The flat sides of the box magazine and the receiver give the most readable placement. A single brighter accent can work if the rest of the craft stays in earth tones.
What to check before buying
- Check where the float sits within the wear grade, since a low float in a grade shows noticeably fewer scuffs.
- Look at the corners of the box magazine and the receiver edges, as these wear first on this finish.
- Souvenir copies come with stickers already applied, so check whether they match the look you want.
- Pattern placement shifts the blotches slightly between copies, so compare the box magazine if the look matters to you.
Who the Factory New quality suits
- Collectors who want the cleanest version of a simple camo finish.
- Sticker crafters who need an even, unscratched base for muted stickers.
- A tidy, low-key M249 for those who value a clean surface.
