Skin overview

M4A1-S | Dark Water is a restrained rifle finish: charcoal metallic stripes and patches laid over a chrome base, with the pattern only showing up where the light catches it. Minimal Wear is the cleanest grade this skin comes in, so the difference between the darker and more reflective paints stays clear on the handguard and magazine. It suits players who want a dark, low-key M4A1-S that still has some depth up close.

Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Restricted sits in the middle of the rarity scale: noticeably rarer than Mil-Spec, yet not truly rare.

Anodized Multicolored: several colours in the metal coating; it wears little, the colours only dull with use.

Appearance in Minimal Wear

The whole rifle is covered in charcoal metallic paint, with lighter silver-grey stripes and blotches running through it in a flowing, water-like pattern. The ribbed handguard and the magazine show the pattern most clearly, while the receiver carries smaller grey patches around the carry handle and magazine well. The suppressor and stock stay mostly dark and smooth, with only a soft sheen along their surfaces. On worn copies the paint goes first on the edges of the magazine, the handguard ribs, the carry handle, the front sight and the muzzle end of the suppressor, where the chrome base and bare metal start to show.

Minimal Wear copies may show tiny specks on the tip of the suppressor and the edges of the magazine, usually only visible on inspect. The handguard ribs, receiver and stock keep their full charcoal tone and the reflective streaks stay crisp. In game at normal distance the rifle reads as clean and uniformly dark. Lower floats in this grade look practically untouched.

Minimal Wear wear: float 0.1–0.15

The float of M4A1-S | Dark Water ranges from 0.1 to 0.26; the Minimal Wear quality covers 0.1–0.15 — 31% of this skin’s scale. The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Price by quality

Compared with the Minimal Wear quality, the others go like this: Field-Tested — 11% cheaper. Based on the cheapest SkinOut.gg listing of each quality, otherwise on the market reference.

By price this skin is 2nd of 11 skins Restricted M4A1-S in this quality (the first being the dearest).

StatTrak™ and Souvenir

There is also a the StatTrak™ version: the counter on the weapon tracks kills. Right now it is 2× dearer than the regular one. There is also a the Souvenir version with tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Silver, holo and foil stickers in grey, white or cool blue tones match the metallic streaks without breaking the dark scheme. A single bright accent near the magazine well can work as contrast, while crowded colourful crafts tend to clash with the monochrome finish.

What to check before buying

  • Check where the float sits within the grade, since cleaner copies keep the suppressor tip and magazine edges intact.
  • Look at the magazine and handguard on inspect, because the reflective pattern is most visible there.
  • Note that StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions exist, and Souvenir copies may carry stickers that change the look.
  • Check any applied stickers or name tag, as they matter more on a quiet, dark finish like this one.

Who should buy Minimal Wear

  • Players who want the cleanest available version of a dark, understated M4A1-S.
  • Collectors who value crisp reflective streaks on the handguard and magazine.
  • Sticker crafters who need a tidy dark base for metallic or holo stickers.
  • Conclusion: the grade to pick if you want Dark Water at its best.
