Skin overview

MAC-10 | Fade is a Mil-Spec Grade finish for the terrorists' SMG. A transparent gradient runs along the receiver, from warm orange and gold at the front through red and magenta to purple and blue at the rear. In Factory New the airbrushed layer over the chrome base is intact, so the colour transitions stay smooth and glossy along the whole upper body.

Item type: smg. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Anodized Airbrushed: a coloured coating with an airbrushed design on top; the coating holds while the design fades with wear.

How the skin looks in Factory New

The gradient covers only the boxy receiver: orange and gold near the muzzle end, red and magenta in the middle, deep purple and blue toward the rear sight and stock mount. The chrome base gives the transparent paint a metallic sheen, so the colours shift with the light along the ridges and side grooves. The barrel, magazine, pistol grip, trigger guard and wire stock stay in neutral grey metal, and the sling is olive fabric, which keeps the colour on the upper body. The share of each colour on the receiver differs from copy to copy depending on the pattern. On worn copies the paint goes first on the top edges and sharp corners of the receiver, then around the raised details on the sides.

The airbrushed layer is complete over the whole receiver, with no visible marks on the edges. Colour transitions stay even and the chrome shine shows through cleanly. In game the gradient reads as a bright, uninterrupted band from orange to violet. Copies at the lower end of the range look the same as at the upper end at normal viewing distance.

Factory New wear: float 0–0.07

The whole float range of MAC-10 | Fade is 0–0.08; Factory New takes the 0–0.07 segment (88% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

MAC-10 | Fade belongs to The Chop Shop Collection, which holds 16 skins. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.

Which stickers suit it

Holographic or foil stickers in gold, pink or violet tones match the gradient and its metallic sheen. Placing them on the side of the receiver keeps them inside the colour zone, and matching each sticker to the shade beneath it gives a tidy result.

• Look at the pattern on the receiver, since the balance between orange, magenta and purple varies between copies.
• Check the float within the range if you care about the cleanest top edge.
• On Minimal Wear copies, inspect the top edge and front corners of the receiver for scuffs.
• Souvenir copies come with stickers already applied, so check whether they fit the gradient.
