Cobalt Grip pairs a plain steel R8 with a blue-violet stippled grip, and the contrast between cold metal and saturated paint is what makes it recognisable. In Field-Tested the paint starts to thin on the raised ridges of the finger grooves and along the edges, while the large flat areas keep their colour. The metal looks a little duller, which suits the working, everyday character of the revolver.

The steel looks duller, with light grime near the muzzle and on the rail edges. In game the blue grip is still clearly read, with a slightly used tone.
