SG 553 | Candy Apple is a solid-colour finish that splits the rifle into bright red and dark parts with no pattern at all. In Factory New the red reads as an even, glossy coat on the receiver, barrel and grip, and the contrast with the black handguard and stock is at its sharpest. On worn copies the red paint goes first on sharp edges and raised areas — the corners of the receiver, the front sight, the muzzle end of the barrel and the edges of the grip — and the dark parts show scuffs on the rails and magazine edges.

The red coat is even across the receiver, barrel and grip, with no visible chips. The dark handguard, magazine and stock look uniform and clean. In game the rifle shows a crisp red block in the centre of the view with sharp borders against the black parts. Everything on the weapon reads as fresh paint.
