Skin overview

Heavy Metal pairs a dark, heavy-looking body with flashes of orange and yellow that read like heated metal. In Minimal Wear the finish looks practically the same as a fresh copy at normal viewing distance, with only faint marks on edges seen up close. It gives the full colour contrast while usually costing less than the top grade.

Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Gunsmith: several techniques combined on one item; some parts rub off, others only dull.

How the skin looks in Minimal Wear

The upper receiver is covered in a dark studded texture, while the long handguard carries grey ribbed rails with a darker centre line. The lower receiver and the area around the trigger are black with splashes of orange, red and yellow that look like glowing metal.

Tiny light specks may appear on the edges of the magazine and the rail ribs. They are only noticeable when inspecting the weapon closely. At normal distance the rifle reads as clean. The warm accents and the stars on the stock stay intact.

Minimal Wear wear: float 0.07–0.15

The whole float range of SG 553 | Heavy Metal is 0–1; Minimal Wear takes the 0.07–0.15 segment (8% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Origin of the skin

SG 553 | Heavy Metal belongs to The Snakebite Collection, which holds 17 skins.

The source is Snakebite Case.

What it costs in each quality

Compared with the Minimal Wear quality, the others go like this:

Based on the cheapest SkinOut.gg listing of each quality, otherwise on the market reference.

By price this skin is 9th of 13 skins Mil-Spec Grade SG 553 in this quality (the first being the dearest).

StatTrak™ and Souvenir

There is also a the StatTrak™ version: the counter on the weapon tracks kills. Right now it is 2.6× dearer than the regular one. There is also a the Souvenir version with tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Orange, yellow, gold and black stickers match the warm accents on the dark base. Placing them on the black receiver area keeps them readable without clashing with the studded texture.

What to check before buying

  • Check where the float sits within the wear grade, since a low float in a worn grade keeps more of the black paint.
  • Look at the magazine edges and the stock first, as these parts lose paint before the rest of the rifle.
  • Make sure the orange accents and the stars on the stock are still intact if they matter to you.
  • Inspect any stickers and name tag on the offer, as they change the overall look.

Who should buy Minimal Wear

  • Players who want a clean look in game for less than the top grade.
  • Sticker crafters who accept tiny marks seen only up close.
  • Conclusion: nearly the full look with a sensible saving.
