Skin overview

Nouveau Rouge is a decorative AK-47 finish with wine and white paint and gold accents laid out in sweeping curves. In Field-Tested the light base starts to show scuffs and the edges begin to lose paint, while the overall ornament remains clearly readable. It suits players who want the recognisable colours without chasing a clean float.

Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Classified is the second-rarest weapon tier, only Covert sits above it.

Gunsmith: several techniques combined on one item; some parts rub off, others only dull.

Appearance in Field-Tested

The receiver is ivory with thin gold scrollwork and red floral flourishes, while the dust cover and rear sight area carry gold-brown accents. The handguard and barrel are wine-red with gold outlines, and the front sight stays in the same deep red.

Scuffs and light chipping show along the magazine, the handguard and the edges of the receiver. The ivory base takes on a slightly greyish tint in places, and some gold lines start to break up at the edges. At normal distance the red-and-cream pattern still reads clearly. The stock face and the centre of the receiver usually stay fairly clean.

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Gold, foil and holo stickers in warm tones echo the gold accents, while deep red or burgundy stickers blend with the wine sections. The cream receiver area gives darker stickers strong contrast, so restrained, elegant designs fit better than bright neon ones.

• Look at where the float sits within the wear grade, since the pale base shows wear earlier than darker finishes.
• Inspect the magazine edges and the front of the handguard, as these lose paint first.
• Check whether the gold scrollwork on the receiver is still continuous.
• If you choose a Souvenir copy, make sure its pre-applied stickers suit the cream-and-red design.
