Show allAllSkin overview
The skin's identity is simple: a bright red anodized body framed by dark grey metal parts and a pale magazine. In Minimal Wear that contrast stays intact, and the candy red still carries its chrome glow from any normal viewing distance. The difference from the cleanest grade comes down to small marks that need a close look to find.
Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.
Anodized: the colour is in the metal coating itself, so wear shows mostly as dulling rather than a rubbed-off pattern.
Other qualities of this skin: Factory New.
Appearance in Minimal Wear
The polymer body, from the stock to the trigger guard and the pistol grip area, is coated in transparent red over chrome, giving a glossy, metallic red with bright highlights on the curves. The barrel, top rail, scope and vertical foregrip stay dark grey and matte, which frames the red section sharply.
Minimal Wear may add a few tiny silver flecks on the sharpest edges, most often around the trigger guard and the edges of the stock. Large flat areas of the red body remain intact, keeping the glossy look. At normal distance in game these marks are practically invisible, and the rifle looks the same as a Factory New copy. The scope, rail, barrel and magazine still look clean.
Minimal Wear quality — float range 0.07–0.08
The float of Souvenir AUG | Hot Rod ranges from 0 to 0.08; the Minimal Wear quality covers 0.07–0.08 — 12% of this skin’s scale. The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.
Where the skin comes from: collection and case
Souvenir AUG | Hot Rod belongs to The Assault Collection, which holds 7 skins. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.
Souvenir version
This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.
Stickers and crafts
Red, gold and chrome or holographic stickers match the candy finish and keep the look cohesive. White or black stickers placed along the red body give clean contrast without competing with the gloss.
What to check before buying
- Check where the float sits within the range, since a low float means fewer marks on the red coat.
- Inspect the trigger guard rim and stock edges closely, as these show chips first.
- Souvenir copies come with preset stickers, so look at them before buying if you plan a custom craft.
- Check for applied stickers or a name tag that may change how the rifle looks.
Who the Minimal Wear quality suits
- Players who want the same look in game without paying for perfection.
- Buyers starting with the skin who accept tiny marks visible only up close.
- Crafters for whom stickers matter more than a spotless edge.
- Conclusion: a practical way to get the Hot Rod look.
