Souvenir AWP | Desert Hydra (Field-Tested)

Skin overview

Desert Hydra is easy to spot by its gold snakes on a red-orange body and the pale barrel and scope above it. In Field-Tested the white parts start to pick up grey grime and the edges of the body show light scuffs, while the snake pattern stays readable. The rifle keeps its character but looks used.

Item type: sniper rifle. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.

Gunsmith: several techniques combined on one item; some parts rub off, others only dull.

How the skin looks in Field-Tested

The receiver and stock body are painted a warm orange-red, covered with gold snakes whose bodies twist across the side panels and the grip. The barrel, scope and rear of the butt stock are finished in white with a warm cream tint, and the muzzle area carries engraved snake details.

The white barrel and butt stock pick up a visible grey tint, and the scope shows light marks on its rims. The edges of the body, the magazine and the muzzle show scuffs where paint has started to come off. The snakes on the side panels remain clear and readable. In game the rifle still looks colourful, though less bright than the cleaner grades.

Field-Tested wear: float 0.15–0.38

The whole float range of Souvenir AWP | Desert Hydra is 0–0.6; Field-Tested takes the 0.15–0.38 segment (38% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Gold, holo gold and warm red or orange stickers blend well with the snake motif on the body. White or cream stickers placed towards the front of the receiver continue the pale barrel colour, while cold blues and greens tend to clash with the scheme.

What to check before buying

• Check where the float sits within the wear range, since the white barrel and scope show grime quickly as the value rises.
• Look at the edges of the stock, the magazine and the muzzle, as these lose paint first.
• Souvenir copies come with pre-applied stickers, so check whether they suit the orange and white scheme.
• Review any stickers or name tag already on the rifle before buying.

Who the Field-Tested quality suits

• Players who want the snake pattern clearly visible at a moderate cost.
• Buyers who do not mind a grey tint on the white parts.
• A practical middle option for everyday play.
