Skin overview

AWP | Medusa is a Covert sniper rifle finish built around a painted gorgon, with snake coils and a stony face set in deep blue and teal over a near-black base. In Factory New the dark ground stays even and the fine lines of the snakes stay sharp, so the artwork on the stock reads as one continuous image. This is the grade for buyers who want the painting exactly as it was laid down.

Item type: sniper rifle. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.

Patina: an aged metal surface; wear is part of the design, so the gap between qualities is less visible.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.

How the skin looks in Factory New

The barrel, muzzle and scope are kept in dark grey and black, so the attention goes to the rear of the rifle. The receiver and lower body carry a near-black base with blue and teal detailing, and the stock holds the main artwork: the gorgon with snakes coiling across the thumbhole and cheek area, highlighted with lighter cold tones.

The paint is complete on every part of the rifle, from the barrel to the butt of the stock. The snake lines and the gorgon's face keep full contrast against the dark base. At normal distance the stock reads as a clean, saturated blue-green picture. Nothing on the weapon shows exposed metal.

Factory New quality — float range 0–0.07

The whole float range of Souvenir AWP | Medusa is 0–1; Factory New takes the 0–0.07 segment (7% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Origin of the skin

Souvenir AWP | Medusa belongs to The Gods and Monsters Collection, which holds 14 skins. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Stickers in blue, teal, silver or holo finishes match the cold palette of the gorgon artwork. Placing them on the dark barrel or receiver keeps the painting on the stock visible.
