Skin overview

The skin is built around a hand-painted mechanical owl surrounded by warm feathers covering the whole rifle. In Battle-Scarred large patches of the design are rubbed off, especially on the carry handle, barrel and magazine, and the base metal becomes part of the look. It is the most affordable way to own the design, with a rough, battle-used character.

Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Classified is the second-rarest weapon tier, only Covert sits above it.

Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

Appearance in Battle-Scarred

The base of the rifle is a dark teal-grey, covered almost everywhere with curved feather shapes in orange, red, brown and yellow. The stock holds the main motif: the mechanized owl with round yellow-orange eyes surrounded by layered feathers.

Large areas of the carry handle, barrel and magazine are stripped to metal. The owl on the stock is heavily scratched and partly faded, and the feathers lose their sharp shapes. In game the skin reads as a dark rifle with broken orange patches. Only the inner areas of the receiver and grip hold noticeable colour.

Battle-Scarred quality — float range 0.45–0.7

The whole float range of Souvenir FAMAS | Eye of Athena is 0–0.7; Battle-Scarred takes the 0.45–0.7 segment (36% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Stickers in orange, gold, brown or dark teal sit well with the feathered artwork. Placements on the receiver side work better than on the stock, where they would cover the owl.

What to look at before you buy

• Look at the float position within the wear range, since copies near the cleaner end keep more of the owl artwork.
• Inspect the top of the carry handle and the magazine edges, which lose paint first.
• Check the owl's eyes on the stock, as they are the focal point of the design.
• Note any applied stickers or name tag and whether they suit the warm palette.
