Skin overview

FAMAS | Sergeant is a Restricted rifle finish that covers the FAMAS in a dark, hand-applied patina with a sober military look. The colours stay in black, gunmetal and grey, with deeper and lighter patches that give the metal a layered, aged surface. Minimal Wear is the cleanest grade this skin comes in, so the satin sheen and the contrast between the patina layers are at their sharpest here.

Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Restricted sits in the middle of the rarity scale: noticeably rarer than Mil-Spec, yet not truly rare.

Patina: an aged metal surface; wear is part of the design, so the gap between qualities is less visible.

Other qualities of this skin: Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

How the skin looks in Minimal Wear

The receiver and body of the FAMAS are covered in a near-black gunmetal patina with darker diagonal bands that create uneven depth across the surface. The carrying handle stays dark, with lighter steel showing along its outer edges, while the barrel and muzzle remain plain dark metal.

This is the cleanest condition available, with the patina layers intact across the receiver, carrying handle and stock. Any marks are tiny and limited to the sharpest edges, mostly on the handle and magazine. In game the finish reads as a clean dark rifle with a soft satin sheen. The contrast between the dark bands and the lighter steel accents is fully preserved.

Minimal Wear wear: float 0.1–0.15

The whole float range of Souvenir FAMAS | Sergeant is 0.1–1; Minimal Wear takes the 0.1–0.15 segment (6% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

The skin’s collection is The Phoenix Collection with 13 skins in total.

It drops from Operation Phoenix Weapon Case (on sale since Feb 19, 2014).

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

The dark gunmetal body works well with military-style stickers in olive, tan, silver or black, keeping the sober look intact. A single metallic or holo sticker on the side of the receiver adds contrast without breaking the theme, while bright multicoloured stickers tend to clash with the restrained finish.

What to look at before you buy

• The skin has no Factory New grade, so a low float within Minimal Wear is the cleanest look you can get.
• Check the carrying handle edges and the magazine first, as these show bare metal earliest.
• On Field-Tested copies compare floats in the inspect view, since the visible difference is small and paying more may not change much.
• Look at applied stickers and name tags, as they stand out strongly on the plain dark body.
