Skin overview

The skin pairs a muted gold finish with a green serpent whose body wraps around the receiver and stock. In Minimal Wear the snake and its gold highlights look almost untouched, with only faint marks that are hard to spot outside close inspection. It keeps the clean look of the top grade while usually being an easier pick.

Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Gunsmith: several techniques combined on one item; some parts rub off, others only dull.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.

How the skin looks in Minimal Wear

The whole rifle is painted in a matte gold base, over which a green snake with detailed scales winds across the receiver, the carry handle and the stock. The stock holds the snake's head area with small red accents, while its body continues along the side of the receiver.

Tiny scuffs may appear on the top of the carry handle and the muzzle end, visible mainly on inspection. The snake artwork and gold outlines remain intact on the stock and receiver. At normal distance in game it is hard to tell apart from Factory New. Magazine and grip still look clean.

Minimal Wear quality — float range 0.07–0.15

The whole float range of Souvenir FAMAS | Snake Song is 0–1; Minimal Wear takes the 0.07–0.15 segment (8% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Origin of the skin

Souvenir FAMAS | Snake Song belongs to The Arabesque Collection, which holds 17 skins. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Gold, green and dark olive stickers blend with the matte base and the snake's coils. Holo or gold-toned stickers on the receiver side echo the bright outline, while a small red accent can tie in with the details on the stock.

What to check before buying

• Check where the float sits within the wear grade, since the gold outline fades noticeably as wear grows.
• Inspect the top of the carry handle, the muzzle and the magazine base, as these lose paint first.
• Souvenir copies come with pre-applied stickers, so look at how they sit over the snake artwork.
• Look at any name tag and applied stickers to make sure they suit the gold-and-green finish.
