Skin overview

Black Sand combines olive, tan and black geometry, and a heavily used copy suits the military theme of the design. In Battle-Scarred the paint is broken across the barrel, scope and stock edges, with bare metal showing through the tan bands. It is the most affordable way to get the skin's colour scheme on the rifle.

Item type: sniper rifle. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

How the skin looks in Battle-Scarred

The receiver carries an olive green base broken by large tan wedges and black outlined panels, while its top rail and the trigger area stay dark. The barrel is black with tan bands, and the muzzle device has a tan tip.

Heavy wear covers the muzzle, barrel, scope and stock, where large areas of paint are gone. The tan wedges on the receiver and magazine are broken up by scratches. The black outlines lose continuity in many places. In game the rifle reads as a worn military camo with the colour scheme still visible.

Battle-Scarred wear: float 0.45–0.8

The float of Souvenir G3SG1 | Black Sand ranges from 0 to 0.8; the Battle-Scarred quality covers 0.45–0.8 — 44% of this skin’s scale. Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Where the skin comes from: collection and case

The skin’s collection is The Shattered Web Collection with 17 skins in total.

The source is Shattered Web Case.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Stickers in gold, tan, black or olive tones match the artwork without breaking the camo look. Placing them on the receiver side next to the tan wedges keeps the layout balanced, while bright blue or pink stickers will stand out strongly against the scheme.

What to look at before you buy

  • Check where the float sits within the wear range, since copies near the cleaner end keep more of the tan bands.
  • Look at the muzzle tip and scope rings first, as these parts show wear earliest.
  • Inspect the stock edges and the bottom of the magazine on Field-Tested and lower copies.
  • Note any applied stickers or name tag and whether they match the tan and olive scheme.

Who should buy Battle-Scarred

  • Budget entry for players who want any finish on the G3SG1.
  • Fans of heavily worn military styles where damage suits the theme.
  • Conclusion: the lowest entry point to the Black Sand colour scheme.
