Skin overview

This hydrographic finish turns the G3SG1 into a two-tone rifle: muted charcoal metal up front, bright orange furniture at the back. At Minimal Wear the look is practically the same as a fresh copy, with at most a few tiny marks near the edges of the orange parts. Buyers usually choose it to get the clean look at a lower grade.

Item type: sniper rifle. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Consumer Grade is the lowest tier of the rarity scale: the most common skins, most often used in trade-up contracts.

Hydrographic: the pattern is applied as a film over the metal; wear rubs it down to the base, starting with raised parts.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.

How the skin looks in Minimal Wear

The receiver and handguard are dark graphite grey, covered with a subtle darker geometric lattice that is visible only up close. The barrel, flash hider and magazine stay plain dark metal, while the scope tube carries orange geometric lines over a black base.

A few tiny marks can appear on the edges of the stock and the butt. The receiver pattern and the scope lines remain intact. At normal distance in game it is hard to tell apart from Factory New. The grip and the dark metal parts still look clean.

Minimal Wear quality — float range 0.07–0.15

The whole float range of Souvenir G3SG1 | Orange Kimono is 0–0.8; Minimal Wear takes the 0.07–0.15 segment (10% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Origin of the skin

Souvenir G3SG1 | Orange Kimono belongs to The Rising Sun Collection, which holds 16 skins. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Orange, black and gold stickers match the scheme best, especially on the dark receiver where they stand out without clashing. White or grey accents also sit well against the graphite metal. Bright blue or green designs tend to fight with the orange furniture.

What to check before buying

  • Check the edges of the orange stock and the pistol grip, since that is where chips show first.
  • Look at where the float sits within its wear range, because a low float in a grade keeps the orange noticeably cleaner.
  • Inspect the scope lines and the receiver lattice on worn copies to see how much of the pattern is left.
  • Note any applied stickers or name tag and whether they fit the orange and black scheme.

Who the Minimal Wear quality suits

  • Players who want a near-new look but do not need a perfect finish.
  • Crafters looking for a clean base at a lower grade.
  • Conclusion: practically the same look as Factory New for most buyers.
