Skin overview

Downtown is an arrow graffiti finish in saturated blue, pink and purple that spreads across the front half of the M249. At Minimal Wear the colours read the same as on a fresh copy, and any marks are small enough to notice only on close inspection. It costs less than Factory New for the same look in game.

Item type: machinegun. Restricted sits in the middle of the rarity scale: noticeably rarer than Mil-Spec, yet not truly rare.

Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

How the skin looks in Minimal Wear

The receiver, handguard and the large box magazine are covered in overlapping blue arrows with bright pink outlines, dark navy contour lines and small white highlights. Purple tones appear around the front of the handguard and the sight area, blending into the blue.

Small scuffs may appear on the sharpest edges of the magazine box and near the front sight. The arrows, outlines and colour blending remain complete. At normal viewing distance it is hard to tell apart from Factory New, and the large panels look untouched.

Minimal Wear quality — float range 0.07–0.15

The whole float range of Souvenir M249 | Downtown is 0–0.65; Minimal Wear takes the 0.07–0.15 segment (12% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Origin of the skin

The skin’s collection is The Recoil Collection with 17 skins in total.

It drops from Recoil Case.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Stickers in blue, pink, purple or holographic finishes sit naturally on the graffiti artwork. Graffiti-style or neon designs on the receiver and magazine box continue the street-art theme, while dark or black stickers stand out well against the bright panels.

What to look at before you buy

  • Check where the float sits within the wear grade, because the corners of the magazine box show the difference first.
  • Inspect the top edge of the receiver and the front sight area for chipped paint on mid and lower grades.
  • Look at applied stickers and the name tag, since they can make a copy more or less suitable for your craft.
  • Decide between StatTrak™ and Souvenir versions before comparing offers, as both exist for this skin.

Who should buy Minimal Wear

  • Players who want a near-clean look without paying for Factory New.
  • Sticker crafts where tiny edge marks do not matter.
  • A sensible balance of appearance and cost.
