Show allAllSkin overview
This M249 finish is built on a dark patina with red lava-like veins, so even a heavily used copy keeps its overall moody tone. At Well-Worn the red pattern is noticeably thinner and grey metal is exposed along the edges of the receiver, handle and stock. The look shifts from glowing magma towards old, scorched steel.
Item type: machinegun. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.
Patina: an aged metal surface; wear is part of the design, so the gap between qualities is less visible.
Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.
Appearance in Well-Worn
The receiver, feed cover and handguard are finished in near-black oxidised metal with an irregular web of red and copper veins resembling cracked magma. The same pattern runs down the stock and pistol grip, where the red patches are spread more widely across the larger surfaces.
Exposed grey metal spreads along most edges of the receiver, handguard, carry handle and stock corners. The red pattern is noticeably paler, and some veins break up on raised parts. At normal distance the gun reads as dark scorched metal with muted red accents. Larger flat areas of the stock and receiver keep part of the pattern.
Well-Worn quality — float range 0.38–0.45
The whole float range of Souvenir M249 | Magma is 0–0.7; Well-Worn takes the 0.38–0.45 segment (10% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.
Origin of the skin
Souvenir M249 | Magma belongs to The Winter Offensive Collection, which holds 13 skins.
It drops from Winter Offensive Weapon Case (on sale since Dec 18, 2013).
Souvenir version
This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.
Stickers and crafts
Red, gold and black stickers continue the magma theme and sit well on the dark receiver. Holographic or foil stickers in warm tones stand out against the black base, while bright blue or green ones clash with the red veins.
What to look at before you buy
- Check where the float sits within the wear range, since copies near the top of a grade show noticeably more bare metal on the edges.
- Look at the carry handle, sight and stock corners in the inspect view, as these lose the red pattern first.
- Compare how much red remains on the receiver and stock, because the pattern placement makes some copies look brighter than others in the same wear.
- Note any stickers or name tag already applied and whether they fit the dark red scheme.
Who should buy Well-Worn
- Budget buyers who still want visible red accents on a dark gun.
- Fans of a used, scorched look over a polished one.
- A cheaper option where the theme remains clear.
