Skin overview

O.S.I.P.R. dresses the M249 in dark grey paint with a lighter ammo box that carries the Combine logo, a look built around a plain service-weapon style. In Field-Tested the edges of the receiver and box start to show lighter metal, which suits the utilitarian theme. It is a sensible middle grade for regular play.

Item type: machinegun. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Gunsmith: several techniques combined on one item; some parts rub off, others only dull.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

How the skin looks in Field-Tested

The receiver, top cover and barrel are finished in a deep gunmetal tone close to black, with a faint blue-grey sheen on the flat surfaces. The box magazine under the receiver is a lighter grey and carries small markings and the Combine emblem, making it the brightest part of the gun.

Lighter metal shows along the receiver edges, the top rail and the corners of the ammo box. The flat surfaces start to lose some of their sheen. In game the wear reads as light edge chipping that fits the service-weapon theme. The Combine emblem and the main paint areas are still mostly intact.

Field-Tested quality — float range 0.15–0.38

The float of Souvenir M249 | O.S.I.P.R. ranges from 0 to 0.7; the Field-Tested quality covers 0.15–0.38 — 33% of this skin’s scale. The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Monochrome, grey, silver or muted blue stickers keep the restrained gunmetal look intact. Placements on the dark receiver let lighter stickers stand out, while dark stickers blend in for a clean service-weapon style.

What to check before buying

  • Check where the float sits within the wear range, since low-float copies keep cleaner edges on the receiver and ammo box.
  • Look at the Combine emblem and markings on the ammo box in inspect, as they fade on more worn copies.
  • Inspect the receiver edges and top rail, which show lighter metal first.
  • Note any stickers or name tag already applied and whether they suit the dark finish.

Who should buy Field-Tested

  • Players who use the M249 regularly and like a slightly used service look.
  • Buyers who want the full colour scheme at a moderate cost.
  • A practical middle grade for everyday play.
