Show allAllSkin overview
This grade keeps the cold, frosted look the skin is named for: a broken grayscale camouflage over most of the M249. Any wear is limited to tiny marks that are hard to find without inspecting the model closely. For most buyers it looks the same as Factory New in a match.
Item type: machinegun. Consumer Grade is the lowest tier of the rarity scale: the most common skins, most often used in trade-up contracts.
Spray-Paint: paint sprayed over the metal; scratches and scuffs appear early but look natural.
Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.
Appearance in Minimal Wear
The receiver, top cover and long barrel are covered in an angular grayscale camouflage of white, pale grey and charcoal patches that resembles frost or sleet. The box magazine carries the same pattern on its large flat sides, which makes it the most visible part of the skin.
Small specks of wear may appear on the muzzle and the sharpest edges of the magazine. The pattern on the receiver and the sides of the magazine stays complete. At normal viewing distance in game the difference from Factory New is barely noticeable. The grayscale contrast remains clean.
Minimal Wear quality — float range 0.07–0.15
The whole float range of Souvenir M249 | Sleet is 0–0.7; Minimal Wear takes the 0.07–0.15 segment (11% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.
Origin of the skin
Souvenir M249 | Sleet belongs to The Achroma Collection, which holds 20 skins. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.
What it costs in each quality
By price this skin is 4th of 7 skins Consumer Grade M249 in this quality (the first being the dearest).
Souvenir version
This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.
Stickers and crafts
White, silver, black and holo stickers blend with the grayscale camouflage for a calm winter-themed craft. A single bright accent, such as red or ice blue, stands out well against the neutral paint on the receiver. The flat sides of the box magazine are the most visible spot for placement.
What to look at before you buy
- Check where the float sits within its wear grade, since chipping on the magazine corners grows noticeably towards the dirtier end.
- Look at the sides of the box magazine first, because they are the largest painted surface and show the condition best.
- The pattern is a uniform camouflage, so the pattern seed matters little and does not need a premium.
- Souvenir copies come with stickers already applied, so check whether they suit you before buying.
Who should buy Minimal Wear
- Buyers who want a near-perfect look without paying for the top grade.
- Players who will never notice the tiny marks during a match.
- Conclusion: practically the Factory New look at a more sensible level.
