In Well-Worn condition the light paint on this M249 is noticeably thinned, and the dark base takes up a larger share of the surface. The angular pattern is still recognisable on the flat sides of the magazine and receiver. The result is a darker, more weathered take on the same grayscale scheme.
Item type: machinegun. Consumer Grade is the lowest tier of the rarity scale: the most common skins, most often used in trade-up contracts.
Spray-Paint: paint sprayed over the metal; scratches and scuffs appear early but look natural.
Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Battle-Scarred.
How the skin looks in Well-Worn
The receiver, top cover and long barrel are covered in an angular grayscale camouflage of white, pale grey and charcoal patches that resembles frost or sleet. The box magazine carries the same pattern on its large flat sides, which makes it the most visible part of the skin.
The paint is thin over the receiver and barrel, and the chipped areas on the magazine edges spread inward. The light patches lose brightness and the gun looks darker overall. The pattern is still readable on the flatter panels of the magazine and receiver. In game the M249 looks clearly weathered but keeps its grey camouflage character.
Well-Worn wear: float 0.38–0.45
The whole float range of Souvenir M249 | Sleet is 0–0.7; Well-Worn takes the 0.38–0.45 segment (10% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.
Origin of the skin
The skin’s collection is The Achroma Collection with 20 skins in total. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.
Souvenir version
This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.
Which stickers suit it
White, silver, black and holo stickers blend with the grayscale camouflage for a calm winter-themed craft. A single bright accent, such as red or ice blue, stands out well against the neutral paint on the receiver. The flat sides of the box magazine are the most visible spot for placement.
What to check before buying
- Check where the float sits within its wear grade, since chipping on the magazine corners grows noticeably towards the dirtier end.
- Look at the sides of the box magazine first, because they are the largest painted surface and show the condition best.
- The pattern is a uniform camouflage, so the pattern seed matters little and does not need a premium.
- Souvenir copies come with stickers already applied, so check whether they suit you before buying.
Who the Well-Worn quality suits
- Players who prefer a darker, weathered machine gun.
- Budget entry for anyone who just wants something other than the default finish.
- Conclusion: a rugged look for a small spend.
