Skin overview

Heat is easy to spot by its fiery orange tone and the bright outlines that trace every panel of the MAG-7. Field-Tested copies show scuffs where the paint meets the edges, but the forge glow still dominates the weapon. It is a practical middle grade for someone who wants the look without paying for a clean finish.

Item type: shotgun. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Restricted sits in the middle of the rarity scale: noticeably rarer than Mil-Spec, yet not truly rare.

Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

Appearance in Field-Tested

The whole MAG-7 is painted in a hot orange-red tone with bright yellow-orange outlines running along every edge and seam, so the weapon looks heated from within. The receiver carries dark charcoal panels with cut-out shapes, each framed by the glowing lines.

Scuffs show on the muzzle, the top edge of the receiver, the corners of the foregrip and the bottom of the magazine. Some outlines look slightly broken at the ends, and the orange body loses a little of its evenness. The central receiver panels and most of the grip still look clean, so the forge effect remains clear in game.

Field-Tested wear: float 0.15–0.38

The whole float range of Souvenir MAG-7 | Heat is 0–1; Field-Tested takes the 0.15–0.38 segment (23% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Origin of the skin

Souvenir MAG-7 | Heat belongs to The Chroma 2 Collection, which holds 15 skins.

It drops from Chroma 2 Case (on sale since Apr 15, 2015).

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Stickers in orange, red, gold or black blend with the forge palette, and holo or foil stickers echo the glowing edges. Placing them on the dark receiver panels keeps the outlines visible, while bright blue or green stickers will stand out as a deliberate contrast.

What to check before buying

  • Look at the float position within the wear grade, since a low float keeps the outlines noticeably cleaner.
  • Inspect the muzzle, the top edge of the receiver and the bottom of the magazine, where the paint wears first.
  • Check whether the glowing outlines on the receiver panels are continuous, as broken lines change the look the most.
  • Note any stickers or name tag already applied and whether you want a StatTrak™ or Souvenir copy.

Who should buy Field-Tested

  • Players who mainly care about the fiery colour at normal distance.
  • Buyers looking for a low-float copy that still reads clean on the main panels.
  • A practical everyday version of the skin.
