MP5-SD | Gauss is a Gunsmith finish that makes the SMG look as if it were assembled from pieces of stamped steel, with dark gunmetal panels and copper-orange ribbed parts. In Factory New every panel line, groove and stripe stays crisp, and the copper ribbing on the magazine and grip keeps its full colour. This is the grade for a buyer who wants the retro-industrial look exactly as designed.
Item type: smg. Restricted sits in the middle of the rarity scale: noticeably rarer than Mil-Spec, yet not truly rare.
Gunsmith: several techniques combined on one item; some parts rub off, others only dull.
The remaining qualities of this skin: Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.
Appearance in Factory New
The receiver and handguard are painted in dark graphite gunmetal with fine engraved grooves and panel lines that imitate stamped steel plates. The integrated silencer carries the same dark tone with a ribbed, vented front section and thin teal and copper accents along its length.
The finish is complete: copper ribbing, teal accents and engraved grooves are all sharp. The silencer tip and the receiver edges show no rubbing. In game the copper magazine and grip catch the eye against the dark body at any distance. Nothing on the weapon looks used.
Factory New quality — float range 0–0.07
The whole float range of Souvenir MP5-SD | Gauss is 0–1; Factory New takes the 0–0.07 segment (7% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.
Origin of the skin
Souvenir MP5-SD | Gauss belongs to The Prisma Collection, which holds 17 skins.
The source is Prisma Case.
Souvenir version
This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.
Stickers and crafts
Copper, orange, gold and teal stickers match the existing accents, while holo or foil stickers in warm tones echo the metallic look. The flat dark side of the receiver above the grip is the cleanest spot for placement.
What to look at before you buy
- Look at the ribs of the magazine and the grip in the inspect view, since the copper there shows wear first.
- Check the silencer tip and the upper receiver edges for rubbed spots, especially near the top of a wear range.
- Compare float positions within the same wear, because a low float in Field-Tested can look close to Minimal Wear.
- Check applied stickers and any name tag, as they change how the clean dark receiver reads.
Who should buy Factory New
- Collectors who want the copper ribbing and engraved panels fully intact.
- Sticker crafters who need a clean dark receiver as a base.
- In short: the full design with no compromises.
