Skin overview

Short Ochre is a solid-colour finish, so heavy wear shows up as bare metal breaking through the tan and yellow paint. In Battle-Scarred the edges, sights and magazine are scuffed down, and the colours look faded and grimy. The ochre parts remain the main colour cue, keeping the skin recognisable as a cheap way to dress the MP7.

Item type: smg. Consumer Grade is the lowest tier of the rarity scale: the most common skins, most often used in trade-up contracts.

Solid Color: a single colour without a pattern; wear dulls it evenly and rubs it off along the edges.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn.

How the skin looks in Battle-Scarred

The receiver and upper body are painted a light sandy tan, with the top rail, side rail, sights, trigger guard and muzzle left in dark grey metal. The magazine, the folding foregrip and the stock butt pad are a richer ochre yellow, and a small orange accent sits near the trigger.

Bare metal shows widely across all edges, the sights, the muzzle and much of the magazine. The tan and ochre paint looks faded and dirty, and wear spreads onto the larger surfaces of the receiver and stock. In game the colour scheme is still recognisable, but the weapon reads as rough and weathered. Only the middle of the larger panels keeps fairly solid paint.

Battle-Scarred quality — float range 0.45–0.747

The float of Souvenir MP7 | Short Ochre ranges from 0 to 0.747; the Battle-Scarred quality covers 0.45–0.747 — 40% of this skin’s scale. The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Where the skin comes from: collection and case

Souvenir MP7 | Short Ochre belongs to The Radiant Collection, which holds 28 skins. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.

Price by quality

Among 7 skins of the MP7 in the Consumer Grade grade and this quality, this skin is the most affordable.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Warm stickers in gold, orange, brown or black match the tan and ochre palette well. Placing them on the flat side of the receiver keeps them clear of the dark rails and lets them stand out against the sandy paint.

What to check before buying

  • Since the finish is a plain solid colour, the float position within the wear grade matters more than any pattern, so compare the float values of the copies on offer.
  • Look at the muzzle, rail edges and magazine bottom in the inspect view, as these are the first places to lose paint.
  • Souvenir copies come with pre-applied stickers, so check whether you want those stickers on the weapon.
  • Check for any applied stickers or a name tag and decide whether they fit your plans for the skin.

Who the Battle-Scarred quality suits

  • For the cheapest entry into this skin.
  • For players who like heavily worn, rough-looking weapons.
  • A budget pick that still keeps the recognisable ochre colours.
