Skin overview

Battle-Scarred is the roughest version of Sour Grapes, with the purple worn back on most edges and large grey areas on the front and the receiver. Because this skin's wear range stops short of the far end of the scale, the violet still holds in the recesses and flat panels. The result is a scuffed purple machinegun that keeps its colour theme.

Item type: machinegun. Industrial Grade is the second tier from the bottom: common skins from drops and collections.

Solid Color: a single colour without a pattern; wear dulls it evenly and rubs it off along the edges.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn.

Appearance in Battle-Scarred

The receiver, top rail, barrel shroud and front sight are painted in a deep violet with lighter purple highlights on the edges and raised details. The folding stock and grip use a darker, slightly muted shade of purple, so the weapon reads in several tones rather than one flat colour.

Most edges and raised details are stripped to grey metal, and the shroud and receiver show wide bare areas. The stock keeps its darker purple mainly on its flat faces. Thanks to the limited wear range the paint is not fully gone, so the weapon is still recognisably purple. At normal distance it reads as a heavily scuffed purple machinegun.

Battle-Scarred wear: float 0.45–0.8

The whole float range of Souvenir Negev | Sour Grapes is 0–0.8; Battle-Scarred takes the 0.45–0.8 segment (44% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Origin of the skin

Souvenir Negev | Sour Grapes belongs to The Ascent Collection, which holds 28 skins. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Purple, lavender and silver stickers blend with the violet body, while gold or green ones give a clear grape-themed contrast. The flat sides of the receiver are the most visible spots, and the grey ammo box works for stickers with darker or monochrome artwork.

What to look at before you buy

  • Check where the float sits within the wear grade, since a low value in a worn grade keeps noticeably more purple on the receiver and shroud.
  • The finish is a solid colour, so the pattern does not change the look and you do not need to pay for a specific one.
  • Look at the muzzle area, the top rail and the stock corners on the inspect screen, as these lose paint first.
  • Check applied stickers and name tag, as they can either complement the purple or clash with it.

Who should buy Battle-Scarred

  • Players who like a heavily scuffed, battle-used look on a machinegun.
  • Collectors who want every wear grade of this skin.
  • A rough but still purple Negev for the smallest spend.
