Skin overview

Rust Coat is one of the finishes that changes character with wear: the plain metal gradually gives way to rust. In Field-Tested the gunmetal base is still dominant, but brown corrosion patches start to show on edges and raised parts. This is the grade where the weathered idea first becomes clearly visible.

Item type: smg. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Patina: an aged metal surface; wear is part of the design, so the gap between qualities is less visible.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear and Battle-Scarred.

Appearance in Field-Tested

The receiver and handguard are finished in dark gunmetal with a faint bronze-brown tint, the vented handguard slots and rear sight left in the same tone. The long cylindrical drum magazine under the barrel is a lighter grey steel with a soft sheen.

Brown rust patches become noticeable on edges, the muzzle, the sights and around the ends of the drum magazine, and begin to creep onto the receiver. The larger flat areas of the receiver and stock still show mostly clean gunmetal. At normal distance the gun reads as dark metal with visible weathered spots. The grip and central parts of the magazine look relatively intact.

Field-Tested wear: float 0.15–0.38

The whole float range of Souvenir PP-Bizon | Rust Coat is 0–1; Field-Tested takes the 0.15–0.38 segment (23% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Origin of the skin

Souvenir PP-Bizon | Rust Coat belongs to The Alpha Collection, which holds 16 skins. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.

What it costs in each quality

Taking Field-Tested as the baseline, Well-Worn — 3.8× cheaper. The comparison uses our cheapest listing of each quality; where there is none, the market reference.

Among 3 skins of the PP-Bizon in the Mil-Spec Grade grade and this quality, this skin is the dearest.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

On cleaner copies, dark, gold or metallic stickers keep the restrained gunmetal look. On rusted copies, warm brown, orange and holographic stickers echo the corrosion, and placements along the receiver work best since the drum magazine dominates the silhouette.

What to look at before you buy

  • Rust grows with float, so check where the float sits within the wear range if you want a cleaner or a rustier look.
  • Look at the receiver and drum magazine in the inspect view, since that is where the amount of rust is most visible.
  • Check whether the copy is a Souvenir version and what stickers are already applied.
  • Check for a name tag and stickers, as they change how the plain finish reads.

Who the Field-Tested quality suits

  • Players who want to see the first rust without losing the dark metal base.
  • Buyers looking for a balanced middle option.
  • Conclusion: a sensible compromise between clean steel and weathered metal.
