Show allAllSkin overview
This R8 keeps its factory steel everywhere except the grip, where a cobalt-violet paint with a textured finish gives the skin its name. At Well-Worn the grip shows clear rubbed patches on the ridges, the base and the back edge, so the blue reads as patchy rather than solid. The look is that of a revolver carried and used for a long time.
Item type: pistol. Consumer Grade is the lowest tier of the rarity scale: the most common skins, most often used in trade-up contracts.
Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.
Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Battle-Scarred.
How the skin looks in Well-Worn
The receiver, barrel, top rail, under-barrel rail and cylinder keep a polished gunmetal steel finish with a faint cool blue tint in the reflections. The trigger guard and hammer stay in the same bare metal.
The ridges, base and rear curve of the grip show broad rubbed areas, and the wear begins to spread onto the flat sides. The colour becomes uneven, holding best in the recesses of the stippling. The metal is noticeably dull with grime on the cylinder, rails and muzzle. In game the grip still looks blue, but no longer as one even surface.
Well-Worn quality — float range 0.38–0.45
The whole float range of Souvenir R8 Revolver | Cobalt Grip is 0–0.803; Well-Worn takes the 0.38–0.45 segment (9% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.
Origin of the skin
Souvenir R8 Revolver | Cobalt Grip belongs to The Ascent Collection, which holds 28 skins. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.
What it costs in each quality
Among 5 skins of the R8 Revolver in the Consumer Grade grade and this quality, this skin is the dearest.
Souvenir version
This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.
Stickers and crafts
Blue, violet and silver stickers repeat the grip colour and the steel frame and keep the weapon cohesive. Placing them along the side of the frame or barrel works best, since the rest of the revolver is plain metal and leaves room for a clear accent.
What to look at before you buy
- Look at the ridges between the finger grooves and the bottom edge of the grip, since paint loss shows there first.
- Check where the float sits within the wear range, as a low float in Field-Tested or Well-Worn keeps noticeably more grip colour.
- There is no pattern variation that matters on this skin, so judge copies by wear and stickers only.
- Review any applied stickers and name tag, because they affect how the plain steel frame looks.
Who should buy Well-Worn
- Players looking for a cheap entry into skins for the R8.
- Fans of an aged, patchy finish on a working weapon.
- Conclusion: an inexpensive choice that keeps the skin's character recognisable.
