Show allAllSkin overview
This is a freehand spray-paint finish in light blue-grey and dark slate blue that covers the SG 553 from handguard to stock. In Battle-Scarred the coat is heavily chipped, with dark metal showing on many edges and larger flat areas. It suits those who like a rough, field-used rifle with a recognisable colour scheme underneath.
Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.
Spray-Paint: paint sprayed over the metal; scratches and scuffs appear early but look natural.
The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.
How the skin looks in Battle-Scarred
The handguard, receiver, magazine and stock are coated in a pale grey-blue base with short, thick strokes of slate and navy blue sprayed over it in no fixed order. The strokes run across the rail sections of the handguard and continue onto the scope, while the barrel and muzzle stay dark steel.
The handguard, magazine and scope are heavily chipped, with large patches of bare metal. Wear also reaches the receiver and broader areas of the stock. In game the rifle looks rough and the light base is visibly patchy. The colour scheme remains recognisable, especially on the less exposed parts of the receiver and stock.
Battle-Scarred quality — float range 0.45–0.8
The whole float range of Souvenir SG 553 | Wave Spray is 0.06–0.8; Battle-Scarred takes the 0.45–0.8 segment (47% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.
Origin of the skin
The skin’s collection is The Bravo Collection with 15 skins in total.
It drops from Operation Bravo Case (on sale since Sep 20, 2013).
Souvenir version
This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.
Stickers and crafts
Stickers in white, silver, navy or teal tones sit naturally on the pale blue-grey base. Placing them along the receiver keeps them in view without covering the stroke pattern on the handguard. Warm, saturated colours will contrast sharply and are better kept to a single accent.
What to look at before you buy
- Check where the float sits within the wear range, as the light base makes scuffs more visible than on dark finishes.
- Look at the handguard rails and the magazine edges first, since they are the first parts to lose paint.
- Inspect the stroke placement on the handguard, as the freehand pattern sits differently from copy to copy.
- Note any applied stickers or a name tag, as they change how the rifle looks and may not suit every buyer.
Who the Battle-Scarred quality suits
- Fans of rough, heavily used finishes.
- Budget entry for those who want the skin in their inventory at the lowest grade.
- Conclusion: the most worn look of the pattern, for those who prefer character over cleanliness.
