Show allAllSkin overview
SG 553 | Wave Spray is a Mil-Spec rifle finish with short, thick freehand strokes of slate blue laid over a pale grey-blue base. In Factory New the strokes keep crisp edges and the light base stays even across the handguard, magazine and stock. This is the cleanest way to see the cool, sea-toned palette as it was painted.
Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.
Spray-Paint: paint sprayed over the metal; scratches and scuffs appear early but look natural.
Other qualities of this skin: Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.
Appearance in Factory New
The handguard, receiver, magazine and stock are coated in a pale grey-blue base with short, thick strokes of slate and navy blue sprayed over it in no fixed order. The strokes run across the rail sections of the handguard and continue onto the scope, while the barrel and muzzle stay dark steel.
The paint is complete on every part, from the handguard rails to the stock. Stroke edges are sharp and the pale base has no visible scratches. In game the rifle looks clean and evenly coloured from any distance. Every detail of the pattern is as painted.
Factory New quality — float range 0.06–0.07
The whole float range of Souvenir SG 553 | Wave Spray is 0.06–0.8; Factory New takes the 0.06–0.07 segment (1% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.
Origin of the skin
The skin’s collection is The Bravo Collection with 15 skins in total.
It drops from Operation Bravo Case (on sale since Sep 20, 2013).
Souvenir version
This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.
Stickers and crafts
Stickers in white, silver, navy or teal tones sit naturally on the pale blue-grey base. Placing them along the receiver keeps them in view without covering the stroke pattern on the handguard. Warm, saturated colours will contrast sharply and are better kept to a single accent.
What to check before buying
- Check where the float sits within the wear range, as the light base makes scuffs more visible than on dark finishes.
- Look at the handguard rails and the magazine edges first, since they are the first parts to lose paint.
- Inspect the stroke placement on the handguard, as the freehand pattern sits differently from copy to copy.
- Note any applied stickers or a name tag, as they change how the rifle looks and may not suit every buyer.
Who the Factory New quality suits
- Collectors who want the pattern and pale base in their cleanest state.
- Sticker crafters who need an unmarked light surface to build around.
- Conclusion: the grade for those who care about a perfectly clean finish.
