Skin overview

SSG 08 | Sand Dune is a plain desert finish: the body, scope, bipod and stock are sprayed in solid sand tones, while the barrel stays dark. In Factory New the paint is even and matte, with no bare metal on any edge. This grade's float window is very narrow on this skin, so a clean copy is mainly about tidiness, not a different look.

Item type: sniper rifle. Consumer Grade is the lowest tier of the rarity scale: the most common skins, most often used in trade-up contracts.

Solid Color: a single colour without a pattern; wear dulls it evenly and rubs it off along the edges.

Appearance in Factory New

The receiver, handguard and chassis are sprayed in a light sand tan, with the rail section on top of the handguard in a slightly darker shade. The barrel and muzzle brake stay dark grey to black, giving the main contrast of the finish.

The paint is complete on every part, including the scope rings and the edges of the rail. Tan surfaces read as one even matte tone. In game the rifle looks crisp, with a clean line between the sand body and the dark barrel. Nothing is worn anywhere.

Factory New quality — float range 0.06–0.07

The whole float range of Souvenir SSG 08 | Sand Dune is 0.06–0.8; Factory New takes the 0.06–0.07 segment (1% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Origin of the skin

The skin’s collection is The Baggage Collection with 15 skins in total. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Stickers in sand, brown, olive or gold tones blend with the desert palette, while a single black or dark sticker echoes the barrel. The flat side of the handguard is the clearest place for a sticker on this finish.
