Skin overview

Battle-Scarred Safety Net turns the bright orange mesh into a patchy, heavily scraped finish on the Tec-9. Large areas of the edges and raised parts lose the pattern, while the flatter sides still hold enough orange to identify the skin. It is the cheapest way to get this colour scheme in a loadout.

Item type: pistol. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Hydrographic: the pattern is applied as a film over the metal; wear rubs it down to the base, starting with raised parts.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear and Well-Worn.

Appearance in Battle-Scarred

The orange mesh runs over the whole upper receiver, the perforated barrel shroud and the lower frame down to the grip. The net is made of rounded cells with dark edges, and the white base shows through some of them as pale spots.

The shroud and the muzzle lose most of the mesh, and heavy scrapes cover the top rail, the trigger guard and the edges of the frame. The orange looks broken and uneven across the receiver. In game the skin reads as a battered orange pistol. Only parts of the flat frame sides near the grip keep the net clearly visible.

Battle-Scarred wear: float 0.45–0.6

The float of Souvenir Tec-9 | Safety Net ranges from 0 to 0.6; the Battle-Scarred quality covers 0.45–0.6 — 25% of this skin’s scale. Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Where the skin comes from: collection and case

The skin’s collection is The 2021 Train Collection with 17 skins in total. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.

Price by quality

Compared with the Battle-Scarred quality, the others go like this: Field-Tested — about the same. The comparison uses our cheapest listing of each quality; where there is none, the market reference.

Among 10 skins of the Tec-9 in the Mil-Spec Grade grade and this quality, this skin ranks 4th by price, counting from the dearest.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Black, white and grey stickers work well against the orange mesh and echo the dark magazine and grip panel. Orange or yellow holo stickers keep the high-visibility theme, and the flat side of the frame above the grip gives the clearest placement.

What to look at before you buy

  • Look at the float position within the wear range, since a low float keeps the shroud and muzzle noticeably cleaner.
  • Check the barrel shroud and the top rail first, as these show wear earliest on this skin.
  • The pattern is a uniform mesh, so pattern placement barely changes the look between copies.
  • Check for applied stickers and a name tag, which may or may not suit your plans for the skin.

Who the Battle-Scarred quality suits

  • Players looking for the lowest-cost entry to this skin.
  • Those who enjoy heavily scraped, battered finishes.
  • Conclusion: a budget pick for anyone not bothered by heavy wear.
