Skin overview

Houndstooth is a calm, earthy finish: a dense brown dogtooth motif over the receiver, framed by grey metal parts. In Field-Tested the pattern is still clearly readable. Scuffs start to break it up along the top rail and the front edges. The fabric look turns slightly rougher, which suits the muted colours.

Item type: smg. Industrial Grade is the second tier from the bottom: common skins from drops and collections.

Hydrographic: the pattern is applied as a film over the metal; wear rubs it down to the base, starting with raised parts.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.

Appearance in Field-Tested

A houndstooth print in dark brown and olive-tan covers the upper receiver, the top rail area, the handguard and the lower receiver around the trigger guard and magazine well. The magazine, pistol grip, vertical foregrip, skeleton stock and muzzle stay plain grey and khaki, which frames the patterned body.

Scratches show along the top rail, the front of the handguard and the receiver corners, with small grey spots breaking the print. The flat sides of the receiver and the area around the trigger guard still carry a clear pattern. At normal distance the gun reads as brown checked, and the wear only shows in inspect. Copies at the low end of the range look noticeably cleaner than those at the top.

Field-Tested quality — float range 0.15–0.38

The float of Souvenir UMP-45 | Houndstooth ranges from 0 to 0.6; the Field-Tested quality covers 0.15–0.38 — 38% of this skin’s scale. The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Where the skin comes from: collection and case

Souvenir UMP-45 | Houndstooth belongs to The Havoc Collection, which holds 19 skins. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Warm browns, gold, cream and muted olive suit the houndstooth check and keep the tailored look. Bright neon stickers clash with the earthy palette. A single sticker on the receiver side or a calm row of similar tones works better than a busy mix.

What to check before buying

  • Check the float within the wear range, since copies at the low end of a grade look cleaner on the rail and handguard.
  • Inspect the top rail and the front edge of the handguard, where the print wears off first.
  • On Souvenir copies, look at the pre-applied stickers and decide whether they fit the brown pattern.
  • Pattern placement barely matters here because the check is uniform, so focus on wear and stickers.

Who the Field-Tested quality suits

  • Players who want a readable pattern on an everyday SMG.
  • Buyers who like a slightly used fabric look on a muted finish.
  • A balanced middle option for regular play.
