Skin overview

This wear is the more affordable way to get the Doomkitty print, a calm grey-olive finish built from a dense pattern of cat skulls. Because the skin's float range ends early, Field-Tested copies sit at the clean end of this grade. The muted colours hide light scuffs well, so the rifle keeps its textured, understated look in game.

Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Hydrographic: the pattern is applied as a film over the metal; wear rubs it down to the base, starting with raised parts.

The same quality also exists as the Souvenir version.

Appearance in Field-Tested

The hydrographic print covers the carry handle, the receiver, the stock and the magazine in a grey-olive tone with darker outlines of overlapping cat skulls. The barrel, muzzle and front sight assembly stay dark grey metal, and the pistol grip remains a plain dark polymer, which frames the patterned body.

Field-Tested copies carry more visible scratches on the carry handle, the receiver edges and the magazine, where the print starts to thin out. Since the float range stops early, the damage stays moderate and the pattern is still readable over most of the body. In game the muted grey-olive tone hides much of this wear, and the rifle reads as a slightly used textured finish. The flat sides of the stock and the centre of the receiver remain the cleanest areas.

Field-Tested wear: float 0.15–0.22

The whole float range of StatTrakā„¢ FAMAS | Doomkitty is 0.08–0.22; Field-Tested takes the 0.15–0.22 segment (50% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Origin of the skin

The skin’s collection is The eSports 2013 Collection with 9 skins in total.

It drops from eSports 2013 Case (on sale since Jul 9, 2014).

What it costs in each quality

Taking Field-Tested as the baseline, Minimal Wear — 9% dearer. Based on the cheapest SkinOut.gg listing of each quality, otherwise on the market reference.

Among 7 skins of the FAMAS in the Mil-Spec Grade grade and this quality, this skin ranks 2nd by price, counting from the dearest.

StatTrakā„¢ version

This is the StatTrakā„¢ version: the counter on the weapon shows confirmed kills. There is also the regular version without the counter. Right now the StatTrakā„¢ version is 1.8Ɨ cheaper than the regular one.

Which stickers suit it

Muted stickers in olive, grey, black or bone white match the subdued skull print. A single dark or holo sticker on the receiver side adds contrast without breaking the calm look.

What to check before buying

  • Compare the float within the wear grade, since lower values keep the carry handle edges cleaner.
  • Look at the top of the carry handle and the magazine edges, as these show wear first.
  • Check for applied stickers or a name tag, and whether it is a StatTrakā„¢ or Souvenir copy.
  • The pattern is uniform, so pattern position barely changes the look.

Who the Field-Tested quality suits

  • Budget players who want a subdued themed FAMAS for regular matches.
  • Buyers who accept light scuffs that the muted colours mostly hide.
  • Players who prefer a slightly used look on a calm finish.
  • Conclusion: a sensible entry option, since this grade stays fairly clean on this skin.
