Skin overview

★ Bayonet | Bright Water tops out its wear range early, so even Battle-Scarred copies keep a good share of the blue camo. Silver steel shows widely along the edge, tip, spine and ribbed grip, but the blade body still carries the water-like blotches. It is the most accessible way into this knife.

Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.

Hydrographic: the pattern is applied as a film over the metal; wear rubs it down to the base, starting with raised parts.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn.

How the skin looks in Battle-Scarred

The blade is covered in a hydrographic camo of irregular blotches in pale blue, sky blue, mid blue and dark navy, with a few grey-white patches that brighten the pattern. The camo runs across the whole flat of the blade up to the tip and around the hole near the spine.

The edge, tip and spine show broad areas of bare steel, and the raised parts of the handle and pommel are heavily worn. Because the wear range ends early, the main flat of the blade still carries a good share of the blue pattern. In game the knife reads as blue and silver rather than fully stripped. The recesses of the grip remain the most intact.

Battle-Scarred wear: float 0.45–0.5

The float of ★ Bayonet | Bright Water ranges from 0 to 0.5; the Battle-Scarred quality covers 0.45–0.5 — 10% of this skin’s scale. Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

What to look at before you buy

  • Check where the float sits within the grade, since the cleanest copies keep the edge and tip free of silver marks.
  • Inspect the visible side of the blade, because the camo placement differs and some copies show more light or more dark patches.
  • Look at the cutting edge, tip and grip ribs first, as these are where steel shows through earliest.
  • Note whether a name tag is applied and whether it suits you, since it stays with the knife.

Who the Battle-Scarred quality suits

  • Entry-level buyers looking for the most accessible copy.
  • Players who like a blue and steel worn look.
  • The budget entry that still keeps much of the pattern.
