Skin overview
★ Flip Knife | Rust Coat pairs a back-swept Persian-style blade with a mottled patina of brown rust over grey steel and an olive textured handle. Well-Worn is the cleanest grade this finish comes in, so patches of grey metal still break through the rust and give the blade a two-tone, weathered look. Buyers who want the aged steel character without a fully brown blade usually start here.
Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.
Patina: an aged metal surface; wear is part of the design, so the gap between qualities is less visible.
How the skin looks in Well-Worn
The blade carries a patina finish: grey steel covered with blotchy layers of brown and reddish rust that spread from the tip and spine toward the edge. The serrated section near the pivot and the pivot screw share the same weathered metal tone. The handle is olive green with a fine textured surface, a lock cutout near the pivot and diagonal grooves along the grip, while the butt end shows a touch of rust on the exposed metal. On this finish wear works in reverse to most skins: as the float rises, rust covers more of the blade and the remaining grey steel disappears, first on the flat of the blade and the area around the tip.
At this grade the rust is already dense across the blade, but noticeable areas of grey steel remain, mostly on the flat and along the edge. The serrations and spine look darker and more corroded than the middle of the blade. In game at normal distance the blade reads as mixed brown and grey rather than solid rust. The olive handle stays clean and keeps its texture and grooves clearly visible.

What to look at before you buy
- Check where the float sits in the range, since a lower float leaves more grey steel showing through the rust.
- Look at the flat of the blade and the tip in the inspect view, as this is where the balance of rust and steel is most visible.
- Compare a few copies, because the rust patches spread unevenly and some blades look more two-tone than others.
- Decide whether you want StatTrak™ or a name tag, as both exist on this knife and change how it is presented.
Who the Well-Worn quality suits
- Players who like the weathered look but want some steel still visible on the blade.
- Collectors looking for the cleanest available grade of this finish.
- Conclusion: the most balanced version of Rust Coat, with rust and steel side by side.
