Skin overview

The red-and-black web is easy to recognise even when the paint starts to give way. In Field-Tested the tip and cutting edge pick up silver scuffs. The flat of the blade still holds a solid red field with a visible web. The knife reads as used rather than damaged.

Hydrographic: the pattern is applied as a film over the metal; wear rubs it down to the base, starting with raised parts.

Appearance in Field-Tested

The blade is painted red along its full length, and a black spider web hydrographic covers the flat and runs toward the Tanto point. The serrated teeth on the spine and the long fuller line carry the same red.

Silver scratches are clearly visible at the tip and along the cutting edge, and the spine teeth lose paint at their points. The central part of the blade still holds solid red with a readable web. The guard and pommel may show light rubbing on their edges. At normal distance the knife reads as red with a worn, lighter tip.
