Skin overview

Boreal Forest is a hydrographic woodland camouflage, and on the Paracord Knife it ages into scraped steel. In Battle-Scarred much of the blade is bare metal with scattered fragments of olive and brown paint. This is the cheapest way into this knife and finish, and the mint cord still carries the colour scheme.

Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.

Hydrographic: the pattern is applied as a film over the metal; wear rubs it down to the base, starting with raised parts.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn.

How the skin looks in Battle-Scarred

The tanto-style blade is covered in a woodland camouflage of olive, dark brown, pale yellow-green and mint patches on a sandy khaki base. The camouflage runs over the whole blade, including the long slot cut through the flat and the notched spine near the guard.

Most of the blade is scratched steel, with only scattered fragments of olive, brown and yellow paint left. The edge, the tip, the spine and the slot borders are bare. In game the knife reads as a worn metal blade on a green handle. The cord is the part that keeps the skin's colour most clearly.

Battle-Scarred wear: float 0.45–0.8

The whole float range of ★ Paracord Knife | Boreal Forest is 0.06–0.8; Battle-Scarred takes the 0.45–0.8 segment (47% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

What to check before buying

  • Look at the float position within the wear range, since the edge and tip lose paint noticeably faster on higher floats.
  • Check the screenshot or inspect the knife to see how much camouflage remains on the flat of the blade.
  • Compare how the camouflage patches fall on the blade between copies, as the hydrographic placement can differ.
  • Check whether the copy is StatTrak™ and whether it carries a name tag, if either matters to you.

Who should buy Battle-Scarred

  • Players looking for the most affordable entry to the Paracord Knife with this finish.
  • Fans of a heavily scratched steel look on a green cord handle.
  • The budget option, where the knife model matters more than the paint.
