The pattern continues onto the guard and the large finger ring, which keeps the same silver tone. The grip is wrapped in black and dark grey tape with visible ridges, ending in a pommel with a small lanyard hole. The arrangement of the swirls shifts from copy to copy, so the blade can look denser or calmer. On worn copies the tip, the cutting edges and the rim of the ring lose shine first, while the tape grip changes little.

The blade, guard and ring are clean, with full contrast between light and dark lines of the pattern. The polished bevel stays bright along its whole length. In game the knife reads as bright silver steel next to the dark grip. There is no visible wear on the tip or edges.
