★ Survival Knife | Case Hardened is a heat-treated patina finish on the Survival Knife blade, with blue and violet tones shifting into gold and pale yellow. In Factory New the colours are at their deepest and the transitions between blue and gold look smooth and unbroken. This is the grade for a buyer who wants the pattern exactly as it was laid on the steel.
Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.
Patina: an aged metal surface; wear is part of the design, so the gap between qualities is less visible.
The remaining qualities of this skin: Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.
Appearance in Factory New
The finish covers only the blade: the tip and the gut hook area carry blue, violet and pinkish patches, which fade into gold and pale yellow toward the slotted middle and the guard. The serrated section near the base of the blade and the cut-out slot show the same warm, mottled metal.
The blade is clean along its whole length, with no scratches on the edge, the tip or the serrations. The patina colours look saturated and the blue zones keep their full depth. In game, at normal viewing distance, the blade shows a clear contrast between blue and gold. The composite handle is untouched.
Factory New wear: float 0–0.07
The float of ★ StatTrak™ Survival Knife | Case Hardened ranges from 0 to 1; the Factory New quality covers 0–0.07 — 7% of this skin’s scale. The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

What to check before buying
- Look at the pattern on both sides of the blade, since the amount and placement of blue differ from copy to copy.
- Check where the float sits within the wear grade, especially near the borders between grades.
- Inspect the cutting edge, the tip and the serrations, as they show scratches first.
- Check whether the copy has StatTrak™ or a name tag if that matters to you.
Who the Factory New quality suits
- Collectors who want the patina colours with no scratches at all.
- Players who inspect the knife often and want the deepest blue and gold.
- The choice for those who value a clean pattern above everything else.
