Skin overview

★ Survival Knife | Stained is a cool-toned knife: icy grey steel, deep blue stains and a black bolted handle. In Field-Tested the patina starts to thin along the cutting edge and the tip, adding a used, working-tool feel. The pattern still carries the overall look in hand.

Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.

Patina: an aged metal surface; wear is part of the design, so the gap between qualities is less visible.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.

Appearance in Field-Tested

The finish covers the blade only: light blue-grey steel with darker blue veins and cloudy stains, giving a marble-like look that runs from the tip past the fuller cutout and the gut hook. The serrated section and the spine carry the same stains, slightly darker toward the back of the blade.

Light scratches appear along the cutting edge, the tip and the serrations, where the patina thins to brighter steel. The central part of the blade still holds its blue veining. In game the wear shows mainly as a lighter outline on the edge when inspecting. The spine begins to show small marks on more worn copies within this grade.

Field-Tested wear: float 0.15–0.38

The whole float range of ★ StatTrak™ Survival Knife | Stained is 0–1; Field-Tested takes the 0.15–0.38 segment (23% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

What to look at before you buy

  • Check where the float sits within its wear grade, since lower values keep the edge and tip cleaner.
  • Look at the stain pattern on the blade, as the amount of blue and the placement of veins differ between copies.
  • Inspect the cutting edge, tip and serrations, which lose the patina first.
  • Check whether the item is StatTrak™ or carries a name tag if that matters to you.

Who should buy Field-Tested

  • Players who like the worn-tool look that suits a patina finish.
  • Buyers who want the pattern clearly visible at a moderate grade.
  • A practical everyday knife with the character of the finish intact.
