How the skin looks in Factory New

The long, narrow blade is mostly golden yellow, with blue and violet heat tints gathering near the tip and at the base by the bolster. The bolster, guard and pommel show the strongest iridescent blue-purple tones, giving the knife a bright accent at both ends of the handle. The handle scales are a warm brown with faint orange and blue mottling, set with a brass pin and small metal details. Because this is a patina-style finish, the colours are part of the metal rather than a painted layer, and the exact spread of gold and blue varies from one pattern to another. On worn copies the blade edge and tip scratch first, followed by the flat of the blade and the raised metal of the bolster and pommel.

The blade, bolster and pommel show no visible scratches, and the heat colours are at full saturation. Transitions between gold and blue look crisp across the whole knife.
