Skin overview

Case Hardened gives the Stiletto Knife a heat-tinted look, and in Battle-Scarred that look becomes rough and weathered. The blade carries heavy scratching and dulled colour, while the knife's long silhouette and coloured fittings keep it recognisable. This is the most affordable way into this knife and finish, for those who care more about the model than a clean surface.

Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.

Patina: an aged metal surface; wear is part of the design, so the gap between qualities is less visible.

Appearance in Battle-Scarred

The long, narrow blade is mostly golden yellow, with blue and violet heat tints gathering near the tip and at the base by the bolster. The bolster, guard and pommel show the strongest iridescent blue-purple tones, giving the knife a bright accent at both ends of the handle.

The blade is heavily scratched from edge to spine, with the deepest damage at the tip. The heat colours are muted, and the surface reads as rough and weathered. The bolster and pommel are clearly worn on all raised parts. In game the knife's shape and colour tones remain recognisable, but the finish no longer looks clean anywhere on the metal.

What to look at before you buy

  • Look at the pattern of each specific copy, since the amount and placement of blue and gold on the blade differ from one Case Hardened knife to another.
  • Check the inspect screenshots for how much blue sits on the visible side of the blade rather than only on the fittings.
  • Compare the float within the wear grade, especially for scratches near the edge and tip, which wear first.
  • Note whether the knife has a name tag or StatTrak™, as both change what you are buying.
