The Survival Knife | Case Hardened pairs a colour case-hardened blade with a utilitarian composite handle. In Battle-Scarred the blade is heavily scratched and darkened, and the blue and gold zones lose their contrast. It keeps the knife silhouette and the patina character at the lowest entry point into this finish.
Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.
Patina: an aged metal surface; wear is part of the design, so the gap between qualities is less visible.
Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn.
Appearance in Battle-Scarred
The finish covers only the blade: the tip and the gut hook area carry blue, violet and pinkish patches, which fade into gold and pale yellow toward the slotted middle and the guard. The serrated section near the base of the blade and the cut-out slot show the same warm, mottled metal.
The whole blade is covered in dense scratches, with the edge, tip, serrations and gut hook the most damaged. The patina darkens and the contrast between blue and gold becomes weak. In game the blade reads as worn steel with faint colour patches. The handle is scuffed but still keeps its shape and dark tone.

What to look at before you buy
- Look at the pattern on both sides of the blade, since the amount and placement of blue differ from copy to copy.
- Check where the float sits within the wear grade, especially near the borders between grades.
- Inspect the cutting edge, the tip and the serrations, as they show scratches first.
- Check whether the copy has StatTrak™ or a name tag if that matters to you.
Who should buy Battle-Scarred
- Budget buyers who mainly want the Survival Knife silhouette in hand.
- Players who prefer a rough, heavily used look.
- The most accessible way into this finish.
