M249 | Sleet is a Consumer Grade finish that covers the machine gun in an angular grayscale pattern of white, light grey and charcoal patches. In Factory New the spray-painted pattern sits unbroken on the receiver, barrel and box magazine. The contrast between the pale patches and the dark stock stays crisp.
Item type: machinegun. Consumer Grade is the lowest tier of the rarity scale: the most common skins, most often used in trade-up contracts.
Spray-Paint: paint sprayed over the metal; scratches and scuffs appear early but look natural.
Other qualities of this skin: Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.
How the skin looks in Factory New
The receiver, top cover and long barrel are covered in an angular grayscale camouflage of white, pale grey and charcoal patches that resembles frost or sleet. The box magazine carries the same pattern on its large flat sides, which makes it the most visible part of the skin. The stock, pistol grip, sights and muzzle device stay dark grey or bare metal and frame the pale pattern. The brass of the ammunition belt adds the only warm colour to the scheme. As a spray-paint finish it chips first on the muzzle, the edges and corners of the magazine, the top of the receiver and other raised parts, exposing dark metal underneath.
The paint is intact on every part of the weapon, including the muzzle and the corners of the magazine. The white patches look their brightest and the edges of the pattern stay sharp. In game the gun reads as a clean grey-and-white machine gun at any distance. Stock and grip show their plain dark finish without marks.

Stickers and crafts
White, silver, black and holo stickers blend with the grayscale camouflage for a calm winter-themed craft. A single bright accent, such as red or ice blue, stands out well against the neutral paint on the receiver. The flat sides of the box magazine are the most visible spot for placement.
What to look at before you buy
- Check where the float sits within its wear grade, since chipping on the magazine corners grows noticeably towards the dirtier end.
- Look at the sides of the box magazine first, because they are the largest painted surface and show the condition best.
- The pattern is a uniform camouflage, so the pattern seed matters little and does not need a premium.
- Souvenir copies come with stickers already applied, so check whether they suit you before buying.
Who should buy Factory New
- Players who want the cleanest version of a quiet grey camouflage on the M249.
- Sticker crafters who need the white patches at full brightness as a base.
- Collectors completing a set in the best condition.
- Conclusion: the pick for maximum contrast and an untouched finish.
