Skin overview

M4A4 | Dark Operative keeps its dark, functional character even in the most worn grade. In Battle-Scarred much of the matte coating is rubbed through to silver metal, and the white graphics are partly gone. It reads as a heavily used tool rather than a styled rifle, and it is the most affordable way to own this finish.

Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Gunsmith: several techniques combined on one item; some parts rub off, others only dull.

Appearance in Battle-Scarred

The receiver is painted matte black-grey, with a white circular emblem on the magazine well and small white lettering on the upper receiver. The handguard rail covers are a lighter silver-grey with pronounced ribs, contrasting with the dark barrel, front sight and flash hider.

Large areas of coating are worn through on the handguard, magazine, receiver and stock. The white emblem and lettering are faded and only partly visible. In game the rifle reads as mostly silver-grey with dark remnants, losing the clean black-and-white contrast. Only recessed parts and some flat surfaces retain the original paint.

Battle-Scarred wear: float 0.45–1

The whole float range of M4A4 | Dark Operative is 0–1; Battle-Scarred takes the 0.45–1 segment (55% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Souvenir version

There is also a the Souvenir version with tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Black, white, silver and grey stickers keep the monochrome look intact, and holo or foil in silver tones adds accent without breaking the style. Place them on the receiver or stock rather than over the white emblem on the magazine well.

What to look at before you buy

  • Check where the float sits within the wear range, since a low value in a grade means cleaner edges and markings.
  • Look at the white emblem on the magazine well, as it is the main graphic detail and shows wear clearly.
  • Inspect the handguard ribs and magazine edges, which lose paint first.
  • For Souvenir copies, check that the applied stickers suit the dark, monochrome finish.

Who the Battle-Scarred quality suits

  • Budget entry for players who just want this skin in their loadout.
  • Fans of heavily worn silver-metal looks.
  • The cheapest way to own the finish, with a rough look to match.
