Skin overview

M4A4 | Dark Operative is a Mil-Spec rifle finish in matte black and silver with small white graphic details, the most visible being an emblem on the magazine well. In Factory New the dark coating is even across the whole rifle and the white markings stay crisp. The restrained, utilitarian look comes across exactly as designed.

Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Gunsmith: several techniques combined on one item; some parts rub off, others only dull.

Appearance in Factory New

The receiver is painted matte black-grey, with a white circular emblem on the magazine well and small white lettering on the upper receiver. The handguard rail covers are a lighter silver-grey with pronounced ribs, contrasting with the dark barrel, front sight and flash hider. The magazine is dark matte grey with grooves, the pistol grip is dark and textured, and the stock carries small white lettering on its side. On worn copies the paint goes first from the edges of the handguard ribs, the rails, the carry sight, the magazine edges and the corners of the stock, and the white markings fade and chip along with them.

The matte coating is uniform on every part, from the flash hider to the stock. The white emblem and lettering are sharp with clean edges. In game the rifle looks dark and even, with the silver handguard standing out clearly. Nothing on the model shows wear.

Stickers and crafts

Black, white, silver and grey stickers keep the monochrome look intact, and holo or foil in silver tones adds accent without breaking the style. Place them on the receiver or stock rather than over the white emblem on the magazine well.

What to look at before you buy

  • Check where the float sits within the wear range, since a low value in a grade means cleaner edges and markings.
  • Look at the white emblem on the magazine well, as it is the main graphic detail and shows wear clearly.
  • Inspect the handguard ribs and magazine edges, which lose paint first.
  • For Souvenir copies, check that the applied stickers suit the dark, monochrome finish.

Who should buy Factory New

  • Collectors who want the white markings and matte coating in perfect condition.
  • Sticker crafters who need a clean dark base for monochrome designs.
  • The choice for those who want this finish exactly as designed.
