Skin overview

MP9 | Dark Age is a Mil-Spec Grade SMG skin that covers the gun in dark gunmetal with a grey metallic ornament of stars, crosses and scrollwork. The finish is meant to look like metal inlay in a medieval motif. In Factory New the fine lines of the pattern stay sharp and the metallic sheen is even across the whole body.

Item type: smg. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Anodized Multicolored: several colours in the metal coating; it wears little, the colours only dull with use.

Appearance in Factory New

The receiver, upper rail and handguard are covered in a dark gunmetal base with a dense grey metallic ornament of stars, crosses, rosettes and thin filigree lines. The same pattern continues onto the vertical foregrip, the pistol grip and the long magazine, so the whole lower half reads as one engraved surface. The muzzle and folding stock stay in plain dark grey, which frames the decorated centre of the gun, and a small blue accent shows near the rear of the receiver. On worn copies the metallic paint thins first on sharp edges and raised parts: the top of the receiver, the muzzle end, the front of the foregrip and the base of the magazine.

In Factory New the finish has no visible damage on any part of the weapon. The grey ornament keeps crisp edges on the receiver, grips and magazine, and the dark base looks uniform. In game the pattern reads as a fine engraved texture with an even metallic sheen. Everything, including the stock and muzzle, looks fresh.

Factory New wear: float 0–0.07

The whole float range of MP9 | Dark Age is 0–0.22; Factory New takes the 0–0.07 segment (32% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Which stickers suit it

Silver, grey and black holo or foil stickers continue the inlaid-metal look without breaking the pattern. A single blue sticker can echo the small blue accent on the receiver. Placements along the flat sides of the receiver read best against the dense ornament.

What to check before buying

• Compare the float position within the grade, since a low-float Field-Tested copy can look close to Minimal Wear.
• Look at the top of the receiver and the muzzle end, as these edges show wear first.
• Check the base of the magazine and the front of the foregrip for thinning of the fine ornament.
• For Souvenir copies, check which stickers are applied and whether they suit the dark finish.
