Skin overview

This MP9 is recognisable by its dense, almost engraved-looking pattern on a near-black base, which gives the SMG a heavy, old-metal character. Minimal Wear keeps that impression intact: the ornament still reads clearly, and any scuffs sit on the outer edges where they blend into the busy design. It is a sensible choice for a buyer who wants the clean look without paying for the top grade.

Item type: smg. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Anodized Multicolored: several colours in the metal coating; it wears little, the colours only dull with use.

Appearance in Minimal Wear

The receiver, upper rail and handguard are covered in a dark gunmetal base with a dense grey metallic ornament of stars, crosses, rosettes and thin filigree lines. The same pattern continues onto the vertical foregrip, the pistol grip and the long magazine, so the whole lower half reads as one engraved surface.

Minimal Wear adds faint scuffs on the sharpest edges, mostly the top of the receiver and the muzzle end. The ornament on the grips and magazine stays fully legible, and the metallic sheen is almost unchanged. At normal distance in game it is very hard to tell apart from Factory New. Small marks only show up on close inspection.

Minimal Wear wear: float 0.07–0.15

The whole float range of MP9 | Dark Age is 0–0.22; Minimal Wear takes the 0.07–0.15 segment (36% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Souvenir version

There is also a the Souvenir version with tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Silver, grey and black holo or foil stickers continue the inlaid-metal look without breaking the pattern. A single blue sticker can echo the small blue accent on the receiver. Placements along the flat sides of the receiver read best against the dense ornament.

What to look at before you buy

  • Compare the float position within the grade, since a low-float Field-Tested copy can look close to Minimal Wear.
  • Look at the top of the receiver and the muzzle end, as these edges show wear first.
  • Check the base of the magazine and the front of the foregrip for thinning of the fine ornament.
  • For Souvenir copies, check which stickers are applied and whether they suit the dark finish.

Who the Minimal Wear quality suits

  • Players who want a clean-looking CT SMG and see no reason to pay for the top grade.
  • Crafters who accept faint edge scuffs that disappear in the busy pattern.
  • Conclusion: nearly the Factory New look at a more reasonable grade.
