Skin overview

This is the most worn version of the tan and dark-olive Negev finish. Battle-Scarred copies show heavy chipping on the light parts, while the dark body keeps the outline of the design. The float range of this skin ends early, so even this grade is limited to its cleaner end.

Item type: machinegun. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn.

How the skin looks in Battle-Scarred

The receiver and barrel are painted in a dark graphite-olive with a subtle mottled texture, crossed by thin tan stripes and small stencilled markings near the rear. The muzzle brake, carry handle, vertical foregrip and pistol grip are finished in light tan.

Heavy chipping covers all tan parts, and large areas of the receiver stripes are gone. Edges across the receiver, magazine and stock show bare scraped spots. In game the Negev looks rough and mostly dark. Because the float range ends early, the damage stays at the milder end of this grade.

Battle-Scarred wear: float 0.45–0.5

The whole float range of Negev | Desert-Strike is 0–0.5; Battle-Scarred takes the 0.45–0.5 segment (10% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Origin of the skin

Negev | Desert-Strike belongs to The Breakout Collection, which holds 14 skins.

The source is Operation Breakout Weapon Case (on sale since Jun 23, 2014).

What it costs in each quality

Among 8 skins of the Negev in the Mil-Spec Grade grade and this quality, this skin ranks 4th by price, counting from the dearest.

StatTrak™ and Souvenir

There is also a the StatTrak™ version: the counter on the weapon tracks kills. Right now it is 2× dearer than the regular one. There is also a the Souvenir version with tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Gold, tan, black and muted olive stickers match the desert scheme. Placing them on the dark receiver keeps the contrast with the tan parts intact.

What to check before buying

  • Check the float position within the wear grade, since the tan parts show the difference most clearly.
  • Inspect the muzzle brake, carry handle and foregrip, where the light paint wears first.
  • Look at the receiver stripes, which lose their sharpness on more worn copies.
  • Check applied stickers and any name tag, as they change how the dark receiver looks.

Who the Battle-Scarred quality suits
