Skin overview

SG 553 | Tornado is a plain two-tone rifle: a sand-coloured receiver set against slate grey furniture, with each part sprayed one solid colour. In Factory New the paint sits as smooth, even blocks with crisp borders between the tan and the grey. Nothing beyond those two colours competes for attention, so the clean contrast is the whole point of this grade.

Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Consumer Grade is the lowest tier of the rarity scale: the most common skins, most often used in trade-up contracts.

Solid Color: a single colour without a pattern; wear dulls it evenly and rubs it off along the edges.

Other qualities of this skin: Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.

How the skin looks in Factory New

The receiver and trigger area are painted a flat sand tan, the only warm colour on the rifle. The railed handguard, magazine, pistol grip and skeletal stock are sprayed a matte slate grey with a slight blue cast, and the scope housing follows the same grey tones, while the barrel and muzzle stay dark. There is no pattern: each part carries one solid colour, and the look comes from where tan meets grey at the receiver joints. On worn copies the paint chips first on the edges of the rail ribs, the front of the handguard, the base of the magazine, the magwell edges and the butt of the stock. Chips show most on the light receiver, where the dark base stands out against the tan.

The paint is uniform on every part, with sharp borders between the tan receiver and the grey furniture. The rail ribs and magazine edges are fully coated, without visible chips. In game the rifle looks crisp and flat-coloured from any distance. Since this skin cannot be found at the very bottom of the float scale, compare copies by float within the grade if absolute cleanliness matters.

Factory New wear: float 0.06–0.07

The float of SG 553 | Tornado ranges from 0.06 to 0.8; the Factory New quality covers 0.06–0.07 — 1% of this skin’s scale. Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Where the skin comes from: collection and case

The skin’s collection is The Assault Collection with 7 skins in total. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.

Souvenir version

There is also a the Souvenir version with tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Muted stickers in tan, olive, brown or grey blend with the colour scheme, while a single orange or warm gold accent works well against the slate handguard. Placements on the grey parts stand out more than on the tan receiver, so a clean sticker on the handguard or magazine tends to read best.

What to look at before you buy

  • Check where the float sits within the chosen grade, since copies at the clean end of a grade look noticeably better on the tan receiver.
  • Look at the receiver first, because chips on the light tan paint are the most visible part of the wear.
  • Inspect the rail ribs and the magazine base, which lose paint before the rest of the rifle.
  • Pattern does not change this solid-colour finish, so focus on float, stickers and name tag instead.

Who should buy Factory New

  • Players who want a tidy, understated SG 553 with crisp colour borders.
  • Collectors completing a clean set of simple solid-colour finishes.
  • The best choice if a fresh two-tone look matters to you.
